Dr. Kamat graduated from D. Y. Patil Education Society's Medical College & Hospital, Kolhapur. Thereafter, he received MS (General Surgery) from Government Medical College, Aurangabadand, and MCh (Cardio-thoracic and vascular surgery) from AIIMS, New Delhi. He was a part of Dr. Anvay Mulay’s team at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai, where he assisted in 65 heart transplants.

Dr. Kamat later pursued an International Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Heart/Lung transplants/VADs at Wythenshawe hospital (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust), Greater Manchester, UK, under Dr. Rajamiyer Venkateswaran, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of cardiothoracic surgeries. He was certified by the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHS BT), UK, for independent cardiothoracic retrievals and also received special training in the TransMedics Organ Care System for beating heart retrievals at Boston, USA.

Dr. Kamat is a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant (ISHLT), Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (IACTS), Maharashtra Medical Council, Indian Medical Council and General Medical Council (GMC, UK). Bio:

Dr. Sanghvi has been at Sir H.N. Reliance Hospital and Research Centre since 1982 and was Head of Department from 1996 to 2011. In addition to his association with our hospital, Dr. Sanghvi is an Honorary Consultant Urologist and Renal Transplant Surgeon at Saifee and Lilavati Hospitals. During his early years of practice, he served as House Surgeon at T.N. Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Hospital (later as Registrar at General Surgery and Paediatric Surgery Department).

Dr Sanghvi has performed 1000 kidney transplants at our hospital and 500 at Lilavati Hospital. He has been instrumental in setting up the Transplant Surgery Facility at Sion Hospital and the Unit for Percutaneous and Endourology Surgery using C-arm at Sir H.N. Hospital and Research Centre.

He was trained by Dr. Arthur Smith (the father of Endourology) in endourological operations in 1988 at Long Island Jewish Medical Centre.

Dr. Sanghvi has been a tutor and lecturer (M.Ch. Urology and D.N.B. Urology) for medical students, registrars, and house surgeons at L.T.M.G Hospital, B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, and Sir H.N. Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr Sanghvi has presented several research papers at conferences across the country, and he was the President of Mumbai Urology Society in 2006‒2007.

Dr. Naseem Shaikh is a consultant radiation oncologist at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center. After MBBS, she completed her DNB Radiotherapy from Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai in 2012.

She has successfully completed a certification course on SRS and SBRT from Global Healthcare Academy, Bangalore.

She is actively involved in cancer management and has participated as a faculty in various state and national conferences.

Dr. Shaikh is a life member of the Society of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India. (AROI LM -1237))

She is also a member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, European Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology and Mumbai Oncology Association.

Dr. Bansal graduated and received his MD (Medicine), DM (Cardiology), and DNB (Cardiology). He has also received extensive training in angioplasty (France). He is a Fellow of European Society of Cardiology and a Fellow of Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (USA). He has performed 10,000+ coronary angioplasties, 5000+ mitral valvuloplasties, 1000+ valvuloplasties of the other heart valves, 1000 peripheral and renal artery angioplasties, 1000 paediatric coronary interventions and 1000 permanent pacemaker implantations.  

Dr. Bansal has trained 100+ cardiologists. He has been a postgraduate teacher for cardiology at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (20 years) and the examiner for DM, DNB and FNB (Cardiology) at several universities across India. He is an inspector for DNB (Cardiology) course approval at various Indian universities across India.  

Dr. Bansal has held/holds the following positions: Past President - Cardiological Society of India (Mumbai Chapter), Past Secretary - Indian College of Interventional Cardiology, Member - Association of Physicians of India, Member - Paediatric CSI and Member - Organ Transplant Committee of Maharashtra. Dr. Nandita Palshetkar is a Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr. Palshetkar pursued her MBBS from Grant Medical College, Mumbai and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Mumbai University in 1993. Thereafter, she completed the Fellowship of Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1995. She continued her training in IVF & Micromanipulation from the University of Ghent, Belgium. As a pioneer of infertility treatment in India, she introduced various techniques, such as assisted laser hatching, embryo scope, and egg banking.

Dr. Palshetkar is the current President of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Society of India. She is a former president of Obstetric and Gynaecological Society in Mumbai, chairperson of the Indian Society of Reproduction, Maharashtra, and vice president of the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr. Palshetkar has delivered more than 700 lectures and authored several papers and book chapters. Dr. Nagendra Sardeshpande is a consultant gynaecological endoscopic surgeon, oncosurgeon, and obstetrician in the Department of Well Women Centre at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr. Sardeshpande completed his MBBS from Mumbai University with distinction in Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, and Forensic Medicine & Toxicology. He held the first rank in the DGO Examination of Mumbai University and perused a FCPS, DFP and DNB (2002).

Dr. Sardeshpande has trained in operative gynaecologic endoscopy under the intensive program of endoscopic surgery in gynaecology at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine, CHRU, Universite d’Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand, France, in April 2004. He specialises in advanced gynaecologic laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, vaginal surgery and oncology. At Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Ms. Khopkar has worked with elite athletes at the Asian, Commonwealth, and Olympic levels, including those training at the Indian national camp. She proudly serves as the official sports nutritionist for the Athletics Federation of India and was recently selected as a nutritionist for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as part of a distinguished 13-member medical team appointed by the Indian Olympic Association.

An alumnus of Mumbai University, he completed his graduation in 1992 and post-graduation 1996. In 2016, he earned a Fellowship of the International Board for certification, specialising in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2016.

Dr. Mukul Padhye is highly skilled in a wide range of minor and major oro-facial surgical procedures including orthognathic, maxillofacial trauma, oro-facial reconstruction, temporomandibular joint arthroscopy, orthognathic, oro-facial reconstruction, temporomandibular joint arthroscopy, temporomandibular joint replacement, oral implantology and augmentation surgeries for implants such as sinus lift surgery, alveolar distraction and vertical /horizontal augmentation.

Currently, Dr. Padhye serves as a Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Faculty Dean at D. Y. Patil University, School of Dentistry in Navi Mumbai. Over the past 14 year, he has been actively involved in in training Maxillofacial Surgery Residents. Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala received specialised training in bariatric surgery at the University of Ghent Hospital in Belgium and the Cleveland Clinic in the USA under Dr. Raul Rosenthal. Additionally, he trained in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery with Prof. Seon Hahn Kim in Seoul, Korea.

With over two decades of experience, his outstanding work and contributions have garnered numerous accolades. Notable awards include the prestigious “Best Surgeon in the World” Award by The American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) in 2019, “The Master Educator” Award by the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) in 2019, and the esteemed Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year (Medicine) Award in 2017.

He was the first surgeon in India to establish ‘The Center for Excellence (ICE)’ for Bariatric Surgery, certified by the Surgical Review Corporation, USA. Additionally, he has served as a board member of the prestigious Asian Endosurgery Task Force and is the only surgeon in India to have demonstrated live surgeries in all countries of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He is also an honorary member of the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean Societies of Surgery.

He is the honorary surgeon to the former Vice President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu and has served as the President of the Asia Pacific chapter of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) from 2017 to 2019. He also conceptualised and headed the NSCI Dome COVID Hospital from its inception in April till now. He is currently an advisor to the BMC for all Jumbo facilities set up for COVID-19.

His academic contributions have been extensive, and he has published almost 20 international papers in peer-reviewed journals and a Silver Book on sleeve gastrectomy. He has authored a crossword bestseller, ‘The Eat Right Prescription’. He also serves as Professor Emeritus at the B.Y.L. Nair Hospital and as Professor at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, teaching minimal access surgery. His expertise extends globally, having mentored fellows from countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Dubai, South Africa, Singapore, China, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, and Kuwait.

At Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Dr. Lakdawala would be responsible for setting up and strengthening the Department of Minimal Access Surgery. With his experience and expertise, we see this department growing from strength to strength.

He specialises in single-incision bariatric surgeries and has treated the largest number of cases in the world. He has been awarded honorary memberships by the South Korean, Japanese, Philippine, Saudi Arabian, and Chinese Societies of Surgery. He has mentored and trained young surgeons across Asia and the Middle East. He has published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
