DNB Programmes

Overview

The DNB programme was initiated at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in 2017, two years after the inauguration of the new hospital.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is an educational body that oversees postgraduate medical teaching programmes in India. Its goal is to create a unified teaching programme distinct from the various state-restricted medical boards.

NBE offers postgraduate programmes in broad specialities as well as super specialities, and our hospital provides a combination of these programmes across various faculties. Students from all over the country apply for these programmes after passing the annual National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test (NEET). Based on their rankings, students opt for various institutes. We aim to attract high-ranking students to our institute by offering robust teaching programmes, state-of-the-art facilities, and competitive stipends.

We at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre view students as potential future scientists, researchers, and contributors to the hospital. Students typically spend substantial time receiving structured education and training aligned with our institute's values. As such, our students become strong candidates to join our system, supporting the growth and development of our departments and strengthening the hospital’s clinical and academic foundations.

Our hospital has received NBE accreditation for providing the following NBE courses:

  • Broad-specialty courses (duration, 2-3 years): General Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Microbiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Anaesthesia
  • Super-specialty courses (duration, 3 years): Gastroenterology, Neurology, Cardiology, Critical Care, Oncosurgery, Urology, Endocrinology, Hepato-Oncology, and Nephrology
