Dr. Dandekar brings in his diverse experience in several world class institutions, in heading the Department of Radiation Oncology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center. He has completed his MD and DNB in Radiation Oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital (2001 – 2006). He is passionate about raising cancer awareness and conducts many online as well as offline activities to spread awareness about the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancers.
He also has previous unique experience of setting up and heading new departments of Radiation Oncology at renowned institutions, such as Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bangalore (2009 – 2010) and Sir L H Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai (2010 – 2014).
Dr. Dandekar has been an early adopter of several cutting-edge technologies in oncology. He is the pioneer of SGRT in India (2015), and also one of the first adopters of the precision radiotherapy technique Rapid Arc in India (2010). He is the first to have designed and run a Radiation Oncology Department in a completely digital and paperless manner (2014).
Dr. Dandekar believes in keeping abreast with the latest developments in oncology and regularly organises oncology conferences with national and international collaborations. Dr. Rao was one of the earliest urologists to perform laparoscopies in India. He trained in Robotic Surgery at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital (MPUH), Nadiad and USC, Los Angeles, California. Dr. Prabodh Karnik is an ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon at the ENT Department of Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He has had a stellar career with several academic laurels. Dr. Karnik has undergone trainings in the U.S.A. and Germany for Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and Ear Surgery. In 1996, he was honoured as a Xomed scholar at a workshop in Savannah, Georgia.
In 1987, Dr. Karnik pioneered Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) in India. His first workshop on FESS in 1989 (Hyderabad) was attended by 200 delegates. Being a pioneer of nasal and sinus endoscopy and ear surgery in India, he has conducted several workshops and courses and delivered lectures both nationally and internationally. He has also been invited to several institutions across the country to perform, demonstrate, and teach reconstructive ear surgery.
He is a consultant at several prestigious hospitals in Mumbai. Additionally, he is a consultant to several reputable public sector undertakings (Atomic Energy, Western Railway, Mumbai Port Trust, Air India). Dr. Prabha Yadav is the director of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department at the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Yadav completed her M.B.B.S. in 1977 and M.S. (Plastic Surgery) in 1982 from the University of Bombay. She received training in microvascular surgery in 1988 under Prof. Georgio Brunnelli at Brescia, Italy – a scholarship awarded by the Italian Government.
She served as the Associate Professor at the Department of Plastic Surgery at Grant Medical College, J. J. Hospital, Mumbai, till 2005. Dr. Yadav served as the Head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Microvascular Surgery Department and Department of Surgery at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (2005–18).
Dr. Yadav has been actively involved in training postgraduates over the last 37 years. She has conducted several workshops and meetings and developed fellowship programmes for plastic and reconstructive surgeons to master microvascular surgery in India. Having trained over 150 reconstructive microvascular surgeons in India and neighbouring countries, she is instrumental in setting the current standards for reconstructive microvascular surgery in India.
In 2015, Dr. Yadav held the prestigious position of “President of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India” and conducted the Golden Jubilee Conference for this association. She has participated in many national and international meetings and workshops as an invited faculty member for lectures and operative demonstrations. She has a good number of publications, such as journal articles and authored book chapters.
