  • Dilated cardiomyopathy: Weakening or enlarging the heart muscle so the heart cannot pump blood efficiently.
  • Myocarditis: Inflammation of the myocardium, i.e., the heart muscle.
  • Restrictive cardiomyopathy: Stiffening of the heart muscle, causing reduced blood flow in the heart.
  • Cardiac amyloidosis: Accumulation of abnormal protein deposits (amyloid) in the heart tissues, causing them to stiffen and reducing their blood-pumping ability.
  • Cardiac sarcoidosis: Accumulation of clusters of white blood cells within the heart tissues damages the heart.
  • Familial cardiomyopathy: Heart disease(s) inherited via genes.
  • Infiltrative cardiomyopathies: Accumulation of substances within the heart tissues, causing the heart muscle to become rigid.
  • Diastolic heart failure: The stiffening of the left ventricle, the heart's main pumping chamber, cannot effectively relax and fill with blood.
