Dr. Rajgopal received the Fourth Highest Civilian Honour—the Padma Shri—in 2014 for outstanding meritorious excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was inducted in the ‘Hall Of Fame’ AFMC for his outstanding contribution in the field of Orthopaedics.

Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin is a Mentor at the Department of Liver Transplant, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. Following the completion of his M.B.B.S. and M.S. (Surgery), Dr. Soin underwent specialist training in Liver and Gastrointestinal Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi. He holds FRCS (Glasgow and Edinburgh) and has trained at the University of Cambridge for 5 years and University of Birmingham for 1 year in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver and Abdominal Organ Transplantation. He was among the first few surgeons in the UK to be awarded ‘Intercollegiate FRCS in Transplant Surgery’. He was a Surgical Fellow and underwent training in live donor liver transplant (LDLT) procedures.
Dr. Soin has an extensive experience of over 3200+ liver transplants—the highest in the country. He has also performed 15000+ other complex liver, gall bladder and bile duct surgeries. Dr. Soin is recognised in the liver transplant fraternity globally for pioneering liver transplantation in India. He is responsible for training most of the liver teams in the country.
Dr. Soin was a Surgical Tutor at Cambridge University, and Faculty at two centres of Royal Colleges in Surgery. Dr. Arun B. Shah is the Director, Department of Neurosciences, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. Dr. Shah also leads the Comprehensive Stroke Centre and offers holistic care to patients consulting at Multiple Sclerosis and Memory Clinics.
Dr. Shah completed his M.B.B.S. at the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai in 1972. He was awarded several gold medals by the University of Bombay for securing the first rank (October 1972). Later on, Dr. Shah pursued M.D. in Internal Medicine and D.M. in Neurology at the same institution.
After his training, Dr. Shah undertook a Fellowship in Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke at the Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon, USA, where he also served as an Instructor in Neurology. He participated in various research projects involving acute stroke therapy and investigated the role of platelet activation in different subtypes of ischaemic stroke. This work was presented at the International Conference on Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease in 1984.
Dr. Shah was the first Neurologist in Mumbai to use Reperfusion Therapy for acute stroke in 2002. He presented his data on ‘Thrombolytic Therapy of Acute Stroke in India’ at the World Congress of Neurology held in Sydney, Australia in 2006. Dr. Shah is actively involved in clinical research pertaining to stroke, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease, and has delivered several lectures on these topics.
Dr. Shah has served as the Professor and Head of the Department of Neurology and currently holds the title of Emeritus Professor at the Department of Neurology at the Topiwala National Medical College & Nair Hospital, Mumbai.

Dr. Arindam Kar is a highly accomplished and experienced Intensivist, currently serving as the Additional Director of Critical Care Medicine at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Kar completed his Critical Care Training at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, and further advanced his expertise with a European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (E.D.I.C.M.) from St. Georges University Trust Hospital, London, UK. He has also undertaken training through observerships and short-term courses in 15 countries across the world.
In his career, Dr. Kar has held significant leadership positions, including Director of Critical Care Services at C. K. Birla Group of Hospitals and Medica Superspecialty Hospitals, Kolkata. He is currently serving as the Examination Controller and has been elected as the Secretary of the Indian College of Critical Care Medicine (2024 onwards).
Dr. Kar has authored over 12 scientific papers, position statements, and guidelines, and delivered more than 200 talks at conferences, symposia, and workshops. He played a pivotal role in drafting the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine's (ISCCM) position statement on COVID-10 care and is an active Member of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s (Government of West Bengal) Protocol Management Committee for COVID-19.
He is an active contributor to the development of Critical Care Programmes, having trained intensivists, nurses, and registrars across India. As a teacher and examiner for various Critical Care Courses, Dr. Kar has significantly influenced the training and growth of Critical Care. He has also served as the Centre Director for E.D.I.C.M. in India since 2015, overseeing the certification of over 1,000 intensivists.
Dr. Kar's expertise extends beyond clinical care to include Healthcare Management; he recently completed an Executive Healthcare Management Programme from I. I. M., Calcutta and is pursuing the prestigious ISQua Fellowship. His pioneering work in initiating Tele-ICU services and ECMO support in Eastern India has greatly impacted patient care in critical settings.

Dr. Anvay Mulay is the Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. After completing his M.B.B.S. in 1983, Dr. Mulay obtained his M.S. (General Surgery) in 1986 and M.Ch. (Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery) in 1989 from the University of Mumbai. Dr. Mulay received specialised training in Cardiothoracic Surgery under the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) Programme (1992–1996). He earned an International Fellowship in Cardiac Surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Portland, USA (1997–1998). Dr. Mulay also worked as a Consultant at Leeds General Infirmary, UK.
Dr. Mulay started the Rural Cardiac Surgery Programme in Maharashtra in 2004 and was a key part of Open-Heart Surgery Programmes conducted in the interiors of Maharashtra during 2004–2005. In 2010, Dr. Mulay started the Comprehensive Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Programme in Maharashtra and established western India’s first comprehensive Heart Failure Clinic in 2015. He performed western India’s first successful heart transplant and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Dr. Mulay and his team have performed 160+ heart transplants, the highest in western India.
