Dr Maydeo, the chairman of Institute of Gastrosciences at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai, has been the past President of the Society of GI Endoscopy of India. He was the first to introduce third-space endoscopy in India including procedures, such as POEM, STER & ARMS in 2012 and has also launched India’s first bariatric endoscopy program in 2018. He has published 91 papers in National and International peer reviewed journals and has written chapters in nine textbooks on GI Endoscopy and related topics. He is on the International editorial board of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a Co-Editor of the Endoscopy International Open journal. He has also received “the outstanding reviewer award” from GIE over the past several years.
Dr. Maydeo has been a visiting faculty for more than 200 endoscopy workshops all over the world and has himself conducted 22 International LIVE endoscopy workshops in Mumbai over the past 25 years.
Dr. Maydeo received the Padmashri Award from the President of India in 2013 for his outstanding contribution to the field of medicine and gastroenterology. He has also won awards in the 1st endoscopy world cup held in Chicago during the DDW and was selected to be a jury member for the endoscopy world cup during DDW 2016.
Dr. Maydeo is an avid teacher and runs a popular endoscopy training institute called the Endoscopy Gurukul where aspiring young endoscopists from India and abroad are taught basic as well as advanced GI endoscopic procedures.

Dr. Amit Gupte is a Consultant of the Department of Hepatology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center. He completed his MBBS training at the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, after which he pursued MD (Medicine) from M S University, Baroda. He received his DM (Gastroenterology) and Hepatology fellowship training from Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital. He also did Advanced Hepatology and Liver Intensive Care Observership at Kings College Hospital, London.
Dr. Gupte has worked at some of the most renowned hospitals in the city. His dependable skills and in-depth knowledge have been instrumental while handling various complex cases.
Dr. Gupte was a bright student with an impeccable academic record, for which he received various awards and scholarships, including the Young Scientist Award and 2nd prize for Best Poster at the Annual Congress of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISGCON) in 2012. Dr. Amish Dalal is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Dalal received extensive training in surgical oncology at the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital and gained experience in head and neck cancers as a clinical and research fellow at the Genitourinary and Gynaecological Oncology Unit. As a UICC – ICRETT fellow, he was trained at the Indiana University Medical Centre, Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota) and University of Southern California- Kenneth Norris Cancer Centre in laparoscopic surgery. He worked as a tutor of Surgery at the University of Liverpool and Royal Liverpool University Hospital performing breast cancer surgeries and breast reconstructive surgeries, completing his FRCS in 1996.
Dr. Dalal has been managing cancer patients since 1986. He is adept in the management of all solid tumours. He has received basic and advanced training in Seoul, South Korea at the Asan Medical Centre and the Yonsei Cancer Centre, where he gained experience in using 3rd generation robotic systems for surgery. He has published 22 research articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He is a member at the Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI), Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (SGO), Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, and the Mumbai Oncology Association.

Dr. Purandare completed his MBBS from the University of Bombay. He was awarded the gold medal for DGO, MD (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Mumbai University, FCPS, and DFP. He has been the recipient of the Best Resident Doctor Award by Seth G. S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital, The Prince of Wales Gold Medal, Shri Hansraj Pragji Thackersey Prince of Wales Fellowship, and Dr. B.N. Purandare Memorial Prize.
Dr. Purandare was awarded the Dr. R.D. Pandit Memorial Prize by the FOGSI for his thesis on ‘Cervical Cerclage: Its Role in Cervical Incompetence’. He trained in Gasless Laparoscopy and Laparoscopic Adhesiolysis at the International School of Gasless Endoscopy/Endogyn Foundation, Germany. He was awarded with the Dr. Ganatra Charitable Medical Centre Award by MOGS for contribution to women’s health improvement. He has also received the Manyata Champion Award in 2018, Pride of FOGSI Award in 2019, FOGSI Future Award in 2020, AMOGS We for Stree Puraksar by Governor of Maharashtra in 2022, and MOGS Mrs Shailaja and Mr Narayan Pandit Award for Women Empowerment in 2024. He has trained undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Family Planning for 15 years.
Dr. Purandare is a life member of the Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MICOG)/FOGSI and the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopy (IAGE). He has received the Fellowship of Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FICOG), MOGS Dr. C. G. Saraiya Travelling Fellowship, and J & J Ethicon Travelling Fellowship.
He is currently the Senior Vice President of Association of Maharashtra Obstetrics and Gynaecology Societies (AMOGS), and was the Joint Secretary of FOGSI in 2019. He was the Chairperson of the Food, Drugs, Medical, and Surgical Equipment Committee of FOGSI during 2015-2017, Joint Clinical Secretary at Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society, Board Member and Medical Advisory Panel of FPAI, and Assistant Administrator of FOGSI Manyata Initiative on Quality Care in Safe Childbirth.
Dr. Purandare has co-authored 31 research papers and book chapters and has conducted several clinical studies. He has been an invited speaker and chairperson at several international conferences and has presented at six of them.

He specializes in the latest Hip & Knee replacement procedures and Hip, Knee & Shoulder Arthroscopic techniques. Dr. Pispati was the Doctor of the Indian Cricket Team 2003–2004 for their Test/One Day matches against New Zealand & Australia. He is also an Invited Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Accident Surgery & South Birmingham Trauma Unit (UK), in view of his exceptional caring & commitment to the Trauma patients. Dr. Akash Shukla is the Director of the Department of Hepatology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He is a world-renowned expert and a pioneer in the field of vascular liver diseases. He is known for his excellent work in various aspects of liver diseases, especially ascites, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcoholic liver disease, Hepatitis B & C and hepatocellular carcinoma treatment.
He has published over 86 original research papers and is known for his expertise in teaching and training Gastroenterologists/ Hepatologists for the last 15 years. His papers have won the Plenary Award at the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of Liver (APASL) in 2018, the Best Research Paper Award at the Vascular Liver Diseases Group (VALDIG) meeting in Switzerland in 2016 and also a recipient of four National Awards. He has written textbooks on ‘Jaundice’ and ‘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease’.
He is the first non-European to be nominated to the steering committee of the Vascular Liver Diseases Interest Group, European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), Europe and has written the Asia-Pacific guidelines for the management of Budd-Chiari syndrome. He is also the secretary of the Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL) National Task Force for vascular liver diseases (Budd-Chiari syndrome, Portal vein thrombosis, non-cirrhotic portal fibrosis (NCPF), extrahepatic portal vein obstruction (EHPVO). He has also been a part of authoring several International and National Disease Management Guidelines for various liver diseases like acute liver failure, acute on chronic liver failure, nutrition in cirrhosis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and NAFLD.
He has worked extensively in the field of transplant and currently holds honorary posts of Joint Director (in-charge) of Regional cum State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (ROTTO-SOTTO), West and Maharashtra & Joint Secretary of Zonal Transplant Coordination Center (ZTCC), Mumbai. He is also the state advisory committee member for Group of Ministers on organ donation and transplant. Currently, he has 142 research publications in International and National Journals.
He is Transportation Research Group of India (TRG) member for National viral hepatitis control program, Government of India and steering committee member for the Group of Ministers. He is deeply respected among his peers and is a governing council member of INASL.

He is an extremely proficient Cardiologist specialising in Interventional procedures and has performed over 10000 interventional procedures. He is a proctor for Complex Coronary interventions , Rotablators and Intravascular imaging and does workshops for teaching in various cities. He is actively involved in Transcatheter Structural Heart Valve interventions including TAVR.
He is actively involved in clinical studies and research and has been a co investigator and Principal Investigator in various studies including the Reality trial, I Optico Study, The I Focus Registry and the Shock trial.

Dr. Desai graduated from University of Bombay, Mumbai. Thereafter, he received his MD (Medicine), DM (Cardiology) and DNB (Cardiology). He has received training in Interventional Cardiology, under Dr. Alan Cribbier, at the Cardiac Center, Rouen, France and also holds an MNAMS and FACC.
Dr. Desai has worked as Assistant Honorary Cardiologist at KB Bhabha Municipal Hospital, Mumbai, and as Assistant Professor - Cardiology at T.N. Medical College. In addition to his association with our hospital, he is an interventional cardiologist at Jaslok Hospital, Breach Candy Trust Hospital and Guru Nanak Hospital.
Dr. Desai has been a guest speaker at national and international conferences, and has also conducted workshops on percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and rotablation.
