Dr. Katkade has independently managed the full spectrum of perioperative care for complex cardiac cases, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm surgeries, and pulmonary endarterectomy, and a range of congenital heart procedures, such as total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC), transposition of the great arteries (TGA), atrio-ventricular (AV) canal repair, and arterial and atrial switch surgeries. He has also independently managed corrective surgeries for congenital heart conditions such as atrial septal defect (ASD) and ventricular septal defect (VSD).
Dr. Katkade is also proficient in transoesophageal echocardiography and a range of Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, including device closure for ASD, VSD, and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), as well as transcatheter mitral and aortic valve replacements.

Dr. Attawar was chosen as a member of an international panel comprising 24 experts to lay down the guidelines for lung transplantations for the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT). These guidelines are considered the lung transplant bible at over 250 hospitals worldwide that perform lung transplantation procedures. Dr. Attawar is a Scientific Adviser for Reliant Heart— a leading innovator in mechanical circulatory support therapies for advanced stage heart failure. In this role, he contributes to the development and progress of technologies related to mechanically assisted circulation. He is currently the Proctor for Jarvik Heart and HeartMate 3 in India and South East Asia.
Dr. Attawar contributed to the to-be-released textbook titled ‘Transplantations and Mechanical Circulatory Support for End-stage Lung and Heart Disease’ (Wiley Publishing). He has published in leading journals such as the Annals of Thoracic Surgery (ATS), and regularly delivers presentations worldwide. Dr. Shaikh has extensive experience in radiology, having worked at various centers, and is adept in conventional radiographic techniques, contrast studies (barium and IVP), ultrasound, colour Doppler, DSA, MRI, conventional and multislice CT, along with interventional radiology procedures. She is skilled in routine abdominal and antenatal ultrasound examinations, as well as colour Doppler imaging of the peripheral limbs, kidneys, and abdomen, particularly in renal transplant evaluations. Dr. Shaikh is highly proficient in all ultrasound-guided interventions and has carried out intraoperative ultrasound for several complex interventional procedures, including bypass graft patency and renal transplant perfusion.
Her special area of interest is intraoperative ultrasound and ultrasound-guided (USG) interventions including LASER ablation of varicose veins. She has authored six journal articles and given five conference presentations.
