The Tower

In near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging, light in the NIR range is used to excite an optical imaging agent, which then emits a secondary light that is detected and visualised in real time using a digital camera.

The installation of a Stryker SPY-PHI fluorescence imaging technology in operating rooms allows surgeons to visualise blood flow in vessels, including lymphatics and related tissue perfusion assessments, during plastic, microsurgical, reconstructive, and gastrointestinal procedures.

This unique and versatile fluorescence imaging system provides surgeons with highly detailed HD imaging resolution for tissue perfusion assessment. The compact design and ambient light immunity—i.e., ability to function effectively even in presence of light sources—of this system enable measurements without negatively affecting surgical accuracy or workflow.
