With an extensive experience of over two decades years in Neurointerventional Surgery, Dr. Gupta is one of the pioneers in this field and is highly experienced in treating cerberal aneurysms, cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), cerebral Dural AVFs, carotid stenosis, intracranial stenosis and acute stroke. After his M.D., Dr. Gupta trained in neurointervention at the Department of Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology and became the Associate Professor at A.I.I.M.S., Delhi. He also has been Visiting Professor at U.M.A.S.S., Boston, U.S.A.
Dr. Gupta has an experience of more than 2800 cerebral aneurysm embolization (balloon/stent assisted coiling, flow diverter/ Intra-saccular deivce placement) , 1500 carotid/intracranial stenting, and over 800 AVMs/Dural AVFs.
Dr. Gupta was awarded the IMA Award in 2006, and IMA Academy of Medical Specialities Award in 2007. He was also featured in Hindustan Times as one of the ‘Top 10 Young Surgeons’ in the country.
Dr. Gupta is the author and editor of “100 interesting cases in neurointervention – Tips & Tricks” (Springer, Germany), and has more than 130 publications in journals and 10 chapters in books to his credit. Further, Dr. Gupta has served as a Reviewer for American Journal of Neuroradiology and Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery. Moreover, he has been invited Faculty for many international conferences (SLICE, PAIRS, LINNC etc).
He has presented more than 75 abstract (paper) presentations and organised several Indian and international conferences. He has organized and chaired seven National/International meetings on Stroke and Neurointervention.
