Dr. Suneel Niranjan Shah is a Consultant at the Department of Neurosurgery, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.
Dr. Shah completed his M.B.B.S. and M.S. (General Surgery) from Tata Memorial Hospital in 1994 followed by M.Ch. from Grant College. He was trained at the J.J. Hospital in the management of acute neurosurgical emergencies related to both head and spine. At Bombay Hospital, he gained experience in all major adult and paediatric neurosurgical procedures and surgical management for intracranial aneurysms, benign and malignant brain tumours, degenerative spinal problems, spinal dysraphism, and head trauma.
Dr. Shah was entrusted with the management of a neurosurgical ICU and gained experience in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. His work at the Hull Royal Infirmary, UK, helped him further his knowledge in general neurosurgery with a focus on spinal trauma paediatric neurosurgery. Dr. Shah has served as a Consultant at the Bombay Hospital since 2000.
Dr. Shah has been a recognised Postgraduate Teacher at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences for the last 10 years and is currently the Associate Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences. He is a member of Neurological Society of India and Bombay Neurosciences Association. He regularly participates in neuroradiology and neuropathology meetings and was the course director of Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Workshop.
