Dr. Shirish Bhagvat is a Consultant Surgeon at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Bhagvat completed his M.B.B.S. degree at T.N. Medical College, University of Mumbai in 1981 followed by an M.S. in General Surgery in 1986 at B.Y.L. Nair Hospital and T.N. Medical College, University of Mumbai. He has completed the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) and Fellowship of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (FIAGES).
Dr. Bhagvat received specialised training in laparoscopic surgeries at the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 1992 and has expertise in upper and lower GI endoscopies. He established and developed the Department of GI Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery at D S Kothari Hospital.
With nearly two decades of academic experience, Dr. Bhagvat has trained both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also served as an Examiner for M.S. and D.N.B. Courses and has authored 20 research publications and seven conference papers.
