Dr. Sheetal Shah is the Head of Pain Management Services Unit at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. She also works as a Consultant at the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management.
After completing her M.B.B.S., Dr. Shah completed her D.A. (Mumbai University), FCPS, and Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, and thereafter, her D.N.B. (Anaesthesia). She further enhanced her expertise through a specialised Fellowship in Pain Medicine from Australia, gaining invaluable international experience in anaesthesia, acute pain services, chronic pain management, and interventional pain procedures.
Dr. Shah has been instrumental in developing the Pain Medicine Department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. The department offers comprehensive services, including round-the-clock postoperative pain management, intra-departmental pain referrals, and the management of the Pain Clinic. Dr. Sheetal is also involved in performing interventional acute and chronic pain procedures, such as facet joint blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, complex regional pain management, and cancer pain management.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shah has been actively involved in multiple research projects and has contributed to several teaching programmes. As an American Heart Association (AHA)-certified Trainer in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, she is committed to training healthcare professionals in life-saving techniques.
Dr. Shah has also been a key contributor to various Awareness Programmes in Anaesthesia and Pain Management. She serves as a D.N.B. Teacher in Anaesthesia and Pain Management. Additionally, she is a member of the Indian Society for the Study of Pain (ISSP) and has authored a chapter on Pain Management.
