Bio:

Dr. Santoshi Janardan Nagaonkar is Director Urology, Urological Oncology, & Robotic Surgery at the Department of Urology of Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He is an Indian‒Australian Urologist who specialises in routine and complex urological cancer surgeries, like robotic prostatectomy and bladder, kidney, penile, and testicular cancer surgeries. 

Dr. Nagaonkar was instrumental in initiating the Robotic Urology Programme at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He also initiated the Robotic Surgery Programme at P. D. Hinduja Hospital and served as the Lead in their Robotic Department. Dr. Nagaonkar is one of the few urologists in India to perform an ultrasound-guided transrectal/transperineal prostate biopsy. He is also trained and highly experienced in performing state-of-the-art MR Fusion Biopsy of prostate.

He received formal and advanced urological training from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons under the Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) Programme. Thereafter, he worked as a Consultant Urologist and Urology Oncologist at Manning Base, Forster Private, and Newcastle Private Hospitals in NSW, Australia (2005‒2014).

Dr. Nagaonkar received the highest national award, the H. S. Bhat Gold Medal—awarded by the Diplomate National Board—in 2002‒2003.

Dr. Nagaonkar is a Postgraduate Teacher for Diplomate National Board (D.N.B.) and Lecturer at the Australian Surgical College. He is also a researcher affiliated with IIT Powai, Mumbai. Dr. Nagaonkar has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and media releases. He has a special interest in urological cancer surgery and has always been technologically driven, always introducing new technologies to ensure optimal treatment for his patients.
