Dr. Nimish Shah is a practicing Consultant at the Department of Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.
After completing his M.B.B.S., he completed training in Internal Medicine and attained his MRCP (UK). Subsequently, he trained in Pulmonary Medicine at the prestigious London Deanery at King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where he attained his specialty certificate in Respiratory Medicine. He has also been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London.
In addition to general pulmonary medicine, Dr. Shah has worked extensively at the renowned Lane Fox Respiratory Unit in managing acute and chronic respiratory failure. He has also worked at the Guy’s Sleep Centre, the largest sleep centre in Europe. This involves setting up continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) for sleep apnoea and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) for complex sleep apnoea and/or respiratory failure. He has been involved in clinical trials in these fields. He has a keen interest in airway diseases and allergies.
He has been trained in interventional bronchoscopy at the Royal Brompton Hospital and has a Level 1 certification in pleural ultrasound. He is also experienced in managing difficult asthma and allergies.
After attaining the certificate of completion training (CCT), he worked as a Consultant at the King’s College Hospital. He has a keen interest in teaching and training and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate Course in Clinical Education from King’s College, London. His main interest lies in introducing and expanding simulation-based training and communication skills.
