Bio:

Dr. Neeraj Kamat is the Additional Director of Heart Transplant & Advanced Cardio Thoracic Surgery  at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. 

He graduated from D. Y. Patil Education Society's Medical College & Hospital, Kolhapur. Thereafter, he received M.S. (General Surgery) from Government Medical College, Aurangabad, and M.Ch. (Cardio-thoracic and Vascular Surgery) from AIIMS, New Delhi. He was a part of Dr. Anvay Mulay’s team at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai, where he assisted in 65 heart transplants.

Dr. Kamat later pursued an International Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Heart/Lung transplants/VADs at Wythenshawe Hospital (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust), Greater Manchester, UK, with Dr. Rajamiyer Venkateswaran, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of cardiothoracic surgeries. He was certified by the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHS BT), UK, for independent cardiothoracic retrievals and also received special training in the TransMedics Organ Care System for beating heart retrievals in Boston, USA.

Dr. Kamat is a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant (ISHLT), Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (IACTS), Maharashtra Medical Council, Indian Medical Council, and General Medical Council (GMC, UK). He has authored publications and presented papers at national and international conferences.
