Bio:

Dr. Ketan Vijay Kargirwar is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. He is renowned for his expertise in clinical practice, education, and research. 

With over a decade of experience in critical care specialties, such as medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and transplant units, Dr. Kargirwar is recognised for his exceptional ability to manage complex cases, including lung and heart transplants, sepsis, neurotrauma, surgical oncology, and multisystem trauma. As a leader in the Critical Care Department, he guides high-performing teams in developing and executing comprehensive care pathways to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. His expertise also extends to advanced therapies such as haemodialysis, SLED, CRRT, and ECMO, as well as proficiency in ultrasound-guided ICU procedures. 

A passionate educator, Dr. Kargirwar serves as a Postgraduate Teacher for the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and as a Faculty for various critical care courses, including those with the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and Indian Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (IDCCN). He plays a crucial role in shaping the future of critical care by mentoring trainees and serving as a Chief Examiner for Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine and NBE for Emergency Medicine. 

Dr. Kargirwar’s research contributions are significant, having authored numerous publications in leading journals. His work includes articles on artificial intelligence in ICU decision-making, the role of AI in medical sciences, and clinical profiles of COVID-19 ICU patients with nosocomial infections. He also conducted a prospective study on the short-term and long-term outcomes of older adults based on geriatric scores. Additionally, Dr. Kargirwar has contributed to book chapters and abstract presentations at renowned conferences like Criticare. 

Beyond his clinical and research work, Dr. Kargirwar is actively engaged in national and international conferences and workshops. He contributes to Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programmes and participates in global forums to stay at the forefront of critical care advancements. 

Dr. Kargirwar’s leadership, dedication to advancing critical care medicine, and continuous involvement in research and education solidify his standing as a prominent figure in the field of critical care.
