Bio:

Dr. Jacob Cherian is the Head of Preventive Healthcare at the Department of Internal Medicine at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. He completed his M.B.B.S. from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and pursued his M.D. in Internal Medicine from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, both of which are renowned medical institutions in India. 

Before joining Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, he worked at esteemed hospitals, such as Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi, Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mumbai, and Holy Family Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Cherian served on the Editorial Board for the annual updates and newsletters of Sir Gangagram Hospital, New Delhi. 

He played a pivotal role in establishing the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Holy Family Hospital, Mumbai, and was in charge of their Casualty and Emergency Department. 

He is also the co-investigator in a pioneering ongoing study called the “Phenogen study”, which aims to understand the relationship between genes and diseases, facilitating the prediction and provision of personalised treatments for various illnesses. 

His special interests include preventive healthcare, infectious diseases, geriatric medicine, and acute medicine.

  • PHFI and BMJ-RCP (UK) in comprehensive diabetes management and diabetes management in pregnancy and special populations
