Dr. Ashok Rajgopal is a Mentor at the Department of Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. An alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Dr. Rajgopal graduated in 1974. He completed his M.S. (1979) from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi, followed by M.Ch. from the University of Liverpool, UK (1983). He underwent advanced training as a Fellow of International Medical Sciences Academy, India (FIMSA, 1996) and the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK (FRCS(Ed.), 2011).
Dr. Rajgopal has held various positions at many prestigious institutes such as AIIMS, New Delhi; South Port Infirmary, UK, and Ormskirk General Hospital, UK. He is the Innovator of Persona Knee–a total knee replacement system. He has 40,000+ Total Knee and Hip Replacement Surgeries to his credit.
Dr. Rajgopal received the Fourth Highest Civilian Honour—the Padma Shri—in 2014 for outstanding meritorious excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was inducted in the ‘Hall Of Fame’ AFMC for his outstanding contribution in the field of Orthopaedics.
Dr. Rajgopal is a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty, Knee Surgery, and The Bone and Joint Journal and has authored several publications.
